PUYALLUP — Senior Damani Green and freshman Cayden McDaniel combined for 41 points as Wilson built a late second quarter lead and held on to beat Evergreen (Vancouver) 81-66 in the 3A West-Central district tournament at Puyallup High School on Saturday afternoon.

Evergreen's Carter Monda hit five 3s and tallied 21 points and Mario Herring added 14.

Both teams have secured berths to next week's regional round of the 3A state tournament. Wilson (21-2) is No. 1 the WIAA's 3A RPI rankings, used to seed the state tournament. Evergreen is No. 5. Teams ranked in the RPI top-8 earn auto berths to the state tournament, and play winner-to-state quarterfinal regional round games.
