Peter Mesa scored three touchdowns - including one on the defensive side - to lead Ramona to a 35-7 rout of Pleasant Valley on Friday night in the CIF State Division 5-AA championship game at El Camino College in Torrance.

Mesa had two rushing touchdowns and he also returned an interception 76 yards for a score in the closing minutes of the third quarter.

It marks the first state football title for the Rams (10-6).
