LAKELAND, FLORIDA – Chiles (Tallahassee) played Fort Myers High School for the Division 2 FHSAA Unified Basketball State Championship, Friday afternoon at RP Funding Center. The combination of a men’s and women’s roster was utilized, and it was a game that was highly contested with Chiles winning the championship, 39-23.

Keeping with the spirit of the Unified program, that contest was one of character and competition.

The game provided several chances for each team to play fast-paced and aggressive basketball. The amount of athleticism was quite honestly impressive.

Double-digit scorers for Chiles were Josef Marlow with 13 and Dontavius Potter with 12. For Fort Myers, it was Shamar Huyler with 12.

These young men and women showed how valuable they are to one another, as well as our communities. Congratulations to each player that came out and performed today.
