Mariner's Crimson Lawrence is voted SBLive Florida Athlete of the Week

Here's a look at Lawrence’s stellar performance

Congratulations to Crimson Lawrence, the winner of SBLive Florida's Athlete of Week award as voted by Florida high school sports fans.

Lawrence, a pitcher for Mariner, earned 46.60% of the 22,324 votes in a state-wide poll. Against a potent Fort Myers lineup in extra innings, Lawrence took it the distance. The sophomore pitcher gave the Tritons nine strong innings, allowed just three hits and fanned seven batters in a 1-0 win over the Green Wave.

Here are all the other athletes that were nominated for Apr. 24-Apr. 29:

Connor Berman, St. Andrew's, Baseball: The sophomore spoiled Cardinal Gibbons' Senior Night with a party of his own in the dugout. Berman blasted a 2-run homer for the Scots, helping lift St. Andrew's to a 9-8 victory over the Chiefs.

Anthony Hernandez, Sagemont, Baseball: Though Matthew Carlson started off the game as the starter in a 1-0 victory over ABF, Hernandez in relief proved to be the key. Hernandez pitched three scoreless innings, providing the kind of relief that allowed Sagemont to notch the narrow victory.

Kaine Ellis, Hernando, Baseball: Winning and Hernando baseball go hand in hand. Last week the program notched win No. 24 on the season and much thanks to that went to catcher Kaine Ellis. Ellis drove in five runs in a 10-6 victory over Dunnellon.

Andrew Ildefonso, Archbishop McCarthy, Baseball: Traveling 103 miles out to the west side of the state isn't so bad. As long as you win that is. The Mavericks did that and got a big night from Ildefonso, who notched three hits and drove in three runs for the victory.

Tugg Hollandsworth, Cardinal Gibbons, Baseball: Heading into district tournament play, the Chiefs are playing some solid baseball. Hollandsworth is a player that has started to heat up as the postseason nears and he showed off his bat in a 8-1 win over Pembroke Pines Charter, belting a 2-run homer.

Jayden Harriel, East Lake, Baseball: Though Harriel didn't get the win for East Lake when they defeated Osceola 2-0 in extra innings, the junior was terrific. Harriel went seven innings, allowing no runs and striking out five.

Josh Hanson, IMG Academy, Baseball: The junior had himself a strong night at the plate in a 8-1 victory over Mitchell last week. Hanson nwent 2-for-3 at the plate, with two home runs and three RBI's for the Ascenders.

Benjamin Monger, Bishop Kenny, Baseball: No hitters are hard to come by and Monger did it with such ease last week in a 13-0 win over Ponte Vedra. The Crusaders 10-run ruled the Sharks behind Monger's 5-inning, no hits and 7-strikeout performance.

Kinnah Kreidler, Mitchell, Softball: Not sure if it’s debatable, but did anyone have the kinda night Kreidler did last week? Kreidler drive in eight RBIs, hit two home runs in a 13-1 victory over Dunedin last week. One of those home runs was a grand slam.

Auriana Turner, Lake Brantley, Softball: Needing to bounce back from a loss against Melbourne, Lake Brantley ended the regular season right. Turner had two hits, including a solo home run in a 3-0 win over South Lake.

Lexi King, Windermere, Softball: Maybe the top pitching performance of last week came from the Windermere hurler. To end the season, Windermere faced a talented Lake Howell club, defeated them 7-0 behind a complete game, 7-strikeout, 6-hit performance on the mound from King.

Rebecca Barnett, First Academy, Softball: It was quite the scoring clinic for First Academy last week in a 24-13 victory against Real Life Christian Academy. Barnett was the ring leader when it came to driving in the runs as she drove in five runs on two hits, one of them being a home run.

Stephanie Basso, Coral Springs Charter, Softball: When going undefeated, you need some ingredients to make that happen. Luck, skill and effort are among the three and Basso's ability to be clutch for the Panthers helped edge them over a fiesty Western club. Basso had three hits, two of them home runs and four RBI's in a 5-4 win over the Wildcats.

Sarah Yamrick, Bishop Verot, Softball: Needing another stellar pitching performance to upend the Lakewood Ranch Mustangs, Yamrick came through once more. The senior pitched a complete game, allowing just five hits, one earned run and striking out nine in a 2-1 victory.

Alexandra Leary, Lake Highland Prep, Girls Lacrosse: Without the performance of Leary on Friday evening, the Highlanders might've been in a much tighter contest. Leary poured in four goals in an 18-2 victory over Edgewood.

Ninad Raut, Wiregrass Ranch, Boys Tennis: The overall No. 1 player in the boys Class 3A bracket was Raut and he took home a state title over the past weekend. Raut defeated Tallahassee Leon's Ian Nicodemus for the individual crown.

Bronson Dowdell, Winter Park, Boys Lacrosse: Winter Park just keeps winning and Dowdell can't stop scoring. The Wildcats' star scored six goals and helped lift Winter Park to a 17-5 victory over Viera.

Elyse Thornton, Steinbrenner, Girls Flag Football: The Warriors made it look easy breezing by Durant 35-0 in a Class 2A region quaterfinal. Thornton was the catalyst in the big victory as she completed 19-of-25 passes for 193 yards, five touchdowns and rushed for 82 on 10 attempts.
