D'Marius Rucker scored three rushing touchdowns as Lakeland outlasted Venice 60-48 on Saturday night in the Florida (FHSAA) Class 4S state football championship game in Tallahassee.

It marks back-to-back state titles for the Dreadnaughts (12-3).

The game was a rematch of last year’s 4S championship game that Lakeland won 21-14.

Venice had its 12-game winning steak snapped and finished 12-3 overall.
