THREE TO SEE
Elijah Thomas, running back/defensive back
Led the team in tackles a year ago, now takes on running back duties as well.
Ethan Nelson, lineman
Starting both ways, brings experience to a young team.
Samson Leasau, defensive lineman
Will play a big role controlling the line of scrimmage.
OUTLOOK
The Marauders lost a ton of seniors from last year’s team, but they have several young, talented pieces to quickly rebuild.
Last year’s offense revolved around Noah Tumblin who scored 35 total touchdowns. With Tumblin now at San Diego State, this season’s approach will be much more of a group effort to move the football.
Mira Mesa faces several strong non-league opponents, but should have the experience to compete for the Eastern League in the latter part of the season.
