BELLFLOWER -- St. John Bosco opened its season on national television and walked away with a 35-7 win over DeMatha (Maryland) Saturday night. Jabari Bates rushed for two touchdowns, DJ Uiagalelei threw two scores and the Braves' defense kept DeMatha's South Carolina-bound running back MarShawn Lloyd quiet for the majority of the game.
