Nephew of coach getting plenty of college looks as run-plowing guard
Danny Meyer, linebacker
Captain of defense calls plays, stops run - and then plays offense, too
OUTLOOK
It wasn’t all that long ago when the Titans were knocking on the door for a state title, losing to Bellevue in the 3A semifinals in 2012.
They were big then. And they are still brawny now.
Ball control will be their game in 2019, and even though University has to replace its entire starting offensive backfield, coach Kaleb Madison likes the tandem of Gilbert at running back, and Meyer at fullback to move the chains -- especially with Moore in his first season at the helm.
GSL offenses might find it difficult to run inside on the Titans with Tanner Madison -- one of the best two-way linemen in the league -- at nose tackle and Meyer at middle linebacker.
