The 2019 WIAA high school football playoffs kicked off Friday with games across five of Washington's six classifications (the 1B state playoffs start next week).

In the 4A state playoffs, No. 5 Bothell edged No. 12 Kentwood 17-14 and No. 7 Puyallup won a 40-34 shootout over No. 10 Eastlake. In Saturday afternoon action, No. 3 Lake Stevens held off No. 14 Union 28-21.

In the 3A state playoffs, Kannon Katzer rushed for more than 300 yards to lead No. 8 Mt. Spokane to a 35-10 win over No. 9 Peninsula.
