The 2020 Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) football playoffs kick off this weekend (Friday, Nov. 6) with first-round matchups across the state.

Thompson, ranked No. 13 in SBLive's Power 25 national football rankings, will face Grissom in the first round of the 7A playoffs Friday. Thompson is on the same side of the bracket as Hoover (9-1), which Thompson beat 39-23 on Oct. 23. It's possible they will meet again in the 7A semifinals.
