Kell avenged a one-run loss earlier this season to Pope and stopped the Greyhounds' 10-game winning streak Monday.
Nicholas Dawkins pitched a gem for visiting Kell, going all seven innings in a 4-1 win, and Bryce Clavon got the offense going early with a first-inning homer.
Kell (17-7, 9-3) narrowed the gap in the Region 6-6A standings, but Pope (18-7, 9-2) is still tied for the lead with Allatoona, which lost Monday at home to Lassiter.
Kell hosts Allatoona on Wednesday, while Pope hosts Osborne.
Pope's 4-3 win March 14 at Kell started the Greyhounds' 10-game win streak, and now the Longhorns ended it.
