Look: Frederica Academy’s Jordan Triplett becomes Georgia’s all-time leading rusher

The Knights’ running back finished 2023 with over 3,000 yards rushing

When you have the kind of 2023 season like Frederica Academy running back Jordan Triplett just had, your name would be heading into the record books right afterwards.

On Sunday afternoon, Knights head coach Brandon Derrick posted via X, formerly Twitter, that the Georgia High School Football Historians Association had put Triplett’s name into the history books. Frederica Academy is not apart of the Georgia High School Association (GHSA), instead part of the Georgia Independent Athletic Association (GIAA).

The Knights’ running back finishes as the state’s new all-time career rushing leader, with 9,028 total yards.

Triplett, an Air Force commitment, finished the season rushing for 3,172 yards, tying Washington-Wilkes’ Daccus Truman’s 2000 record.

Triplett also etched his name in the record books earlier in the season when he rushed for 442 yards against St. Andrews back on October 22nd. That total is good for the seventh most rushing yards in a single game all-time.

Frederica Academy’s season ended last week in a 56-30 loss to Valwood.
