Here are the candidates for SBLive's Illinois High School Athlete of the Week as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff.

Ellis Alexander, Jones baseball

The junior was 9-for-11 with three runs, four RBIs and two stolen bases as the Eagles went 3-0 for the week.

Zach Barrett, Sandburg boys indoor track

The senior broke the indoor program record in the shot put with a throw of 49-9.25.

Ethan Borggren, Lane baseball

The senior was 5-for-12 with two doubles, a triple, a homer, three walks, six runs and four RBIs as the Champions went 4-0. He also pitched three scoreless innings with two saves.

Armond Boulware, Kenwood boys indoor track

The junior won the 200 meters (21.97), ran on the first-place 800 relay team (1:31.04) and took second in the 60 (7.06) at the Public League finals.

Angelena Bullocks, Young girls indoor track

The junior had three wins at the Public League finals, running 24.49 in the 200 meters and 7.51 in the 60 along with running on the first-place 800 relay team (1:42.55).

Ben DeMateo, Farragut baseball

The sophomore hit .333 with a .500 on-base percentage, one homer, eight runs and 10 stolen bases in four games.

Iose Epenesa, Edwardsville boys indoor track

The junior set the program indoor record in the shot put with an effort of 53-5.25) at the Southwest Illinois Relays.

Parish Hartley Jr., Kenwood boys indoor track

The junior had wins in the long jump (23-0.75) and 60 meters (7.03) along with a runner-up finish in the 200 (21.98) at the Public League finals.

Joshua Hill, Crete-Monee boys indoor track

The junior broke the 16-year-old indoor program record in the triple jump with a leap of 47-5.75.

Hailey Holtz, Richmond-Burton softball

The junior threw a four-inning perfect game with eight strikeouts and was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs in a 16-0 shutout of Regina Dominican.

Zion Kostyra, Joliet Central boys indoor track

The senior broke the 10-year-old indoor program record in the triple jump with a 44-22.25 effort.

Megan Maresco, Prospect softball

The freshman struck out 17 in a 7-3 win against Glenbrook South.

Erin Metz, Wheaton North softball

The Valparaiso recruit homered and struck out 13 in an 11-1 win against Naperville North.

Henry Murray, Lane baseball

The junior was 7-for-8 with three doubles, a triple, six runs and five RBIs as the Champions went 4-0.

Katelin Navarre, Southland Prep girls indoor track

The sophomore won the 55 meters (7.54) and ran on two first-place relays – the 800 (1:50.74) and the 1,600 (4:22.97) – at the Lemont Invitational.

Rosa Patino, Juarez softball

The freshman slashed .333/.500/.833 with two homers, eight RBIs, and six steals in three games,

Kayla Riener, Johnsburg softball

The sophomore had seven hits and drove in six runs as the Skyhawks swept Crystal Lake South 10-5 and 19-17.

Mariyah Robinson, Simeon girls indoor track

The sophomore won the long jump (16-10.5) and 400 meters (57.49), and also took second in the 60 (7.57) at the Public League finals.

Reese Rourke, Lincoln-Way West softball

The sophomore was 5-for-6 with two doubles, a triple, two homers and nine RBIs in a 21-7 win against Plainfield North.

Logic West, Kenwood boys indoor track

The junior cleared 6-7.5 to win the high jump and also took first in the 400 meters (50.17) at the Public League finals.
