MFL MarMac senior two-way star Carver Blietz-Bentien voted SBLive’s Iowa high school athlete of the week (11/20/2023)

For the first time this school year, teammates took the top two spots in the SBLive Iowa High School Athlete of the Week voting. 

Senior quarterback/defensive back Carver Blietz-Bentien racked up 2,818 votes (47.39%) to take the award for for Nov. 6-12.

Teammate Quinn McGeough, a junior running back, was second with 1,675 votes (28.17%). 

Blietz-Bentien had a huge night on both sides of the football in the Bulldogs’ 41-28 Class 1A semifinal victory over Underwood. Blietz-Bentien had 158 yards rushing playing quarterback to go with 11 tackles and a sack on defense. He made two key defensive plays to force turnovers. First he blitzed and caused an interception returned for a touchdown and later knocked the ball loose to force a fumble that led to a touchdown.
