The Ubly Bearcats (14-0) defeated the Whiteford Bobcats (13-1) 21-6 in the Division 8 Michigan high school football state championship on Saturday at Ford Field.

Ubly drove 79 yards over eight minutes on its first drive of the game, but the Bobcats stopped the Bearcats on 4th-and-goal.

Whiteford then drove 99 yards to take a 6-0 lead with a Tre Eitniear touchdown pass to Hunter DeBarr for four yards in the second quarter.

Ubly answered with a touchdown from Seth Maurer for four yards to take a 7-6 lead.

Ubly took a 14-6 lead in the third quarter. Evan Peruski threw a touchdown pass to Ryan Learman for 11 yards.

The Bearcats scored in the fourth quarter for a 21-6 lead with a 3-yard touchdown run from Luke Volmering.
