Photos: See finals of 2023 CIF State Track and Field Championships

With more than 200 medals (top six) on the line, the intensity and athleticism was immense at the 103rd event in Clovis

CLOVIS, Calif. — With 34 events and hundreds of athletes spread all over Veteran's Memorial Stadium on the campus of Buchanan High School, it was difficult to take in all that went on in Saturday's 2023 CIF State Track and Field Championships. 

But photographer Joe Bergman did his best to cover the end-to-end action over six hours. Here's the WRITE-UP OF THE DAY'S ACTION, which featured two meet records, nine top 2023 state marks and numerous national top 10 marks. 

The state-meet marks were provided by Oregon-bound two-sport standout Rodrick Pleasant, of Serra-Gardena, winning the 100 in 10.20 seconds, while remarkable Ventura sophomore Sadie Engelhardt broke the 1600 record in 4 minutes, 33.45 seconds.
