Meet 20 small-school girls basketball stars across the nation in 2023-24
Some of the best basketball across the country is played in lower classifications.
With the 2023-24 high school basketball playoffs looming, SBLive Sports set out to find the most impactful small-school standouts from coast to coast.
We started on the boys side and are now moving on to girls stars.
Here are 20 of the best small-school girls basketball players in the nation.

Eryn Brown, so., Istrouma (Louisiana)
Brown erupted for 64 points in an early-January victory over Episcopal. The sophomore standout is averaging 30.9 points, 8.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists.
Leila Carter, so., Columbus International (Ohio)
A do-everything guard, Carter has recorded a double-double in every game this season. She is putting up eye-popping numbers at 32.1 points, 17.5 rebounds, 7.2 steals and 3.1 assists.
Devin Coppinger, sr., Nooksack Valley (Washington)
Coppinger, ESPN’s No. 37 overall national senior prospect, carried Nooksack Valley to the program’s first Class 1A state championship a season ago. The Washington signee is a lights-out 3-point shooter who is averaging 24 points per game.
Taylor Davidson, jr., Stillman Valley (Illinois)
Davidson does it all for Stillman Valley, averaging 24 points, six rebounds, 3.7 assists and 3.1 steals. She owns numerous school records, including the single-game (41) and single-season (648 and counting) scoring marks.
Shakiria Foster, sr., Lamar County (Georgia)
Foster, the leading scorer in Lamar County history who is closing in on 2,000 career points, is putting up 26.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 4.2 steals as a senior. Her twin sister, Zakiria, is also a standout for the Trojans.
Amiah Hargrove, sr., Christopher (Illinois)
In mid-January, Hargrove became Christopher’s all-time leading scorer with 2,537 points and counting. The Nebraska signee also has more than 1,000 career rebounds and is averaging 30.3 points, 10.5 boards, 2.1 assists, 3.1 steals and 1.3 blocks this winter.
Lauren Harris, so., Faith Christian (California)
Harris is an elite 3-point shooter for Faith Christian who is a valuable contributor at both ends of the court. She is averaging 30 points, 13.6 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.4 blocks.
Nyshea Hoskin, jr., Nanih Waiya (Mississippi)
Hoskin is pouring in 26 points per game during her junior season for Nanih Waiya. The junior guard is one of the most dangerous scorers in Mississippi.
Emily Kate Jones, sr., First Baptist (Texas)
A four-year varsity standout, Jones has averaged a double-double in every season at First Baptist. She is putting up 28.2 points, 15 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.8 steals and 1.6 blocks this winter.
Emma Larkin, so., Geibel Catholic (Pennsylvania)
Larkin has been a sophomore sensation for Geibel Catholic, putting up 31.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 4.3 steals. She surpassed the 1,000 career points mark in late January.
AJ Mannering, sr., Peyton (Colorado)
Mannering has increased her scoring average by nearly 10 points per game as a senior. The point guard is averaging 30.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 7.2 steals.
Mia McGregor, fr., Mio (Michigan)
Mio only has seven players on its varsity roster, but one of them can put up points in a hurry. McGregor is lighting up opponents for 42 points per game while carrying freshmen-led Mio to a winning season.
Tori Oehrlein, so., Crosby-Ironton (Minnesota)
In late January, Oehrlein became the fastest player in Minnesota history to reach 3,000 career points. She began playing varsity basketball in seventh grade and is averaging 37.8 points per game as a sophomore.
Camryn Runner, sr., Hamilton Heights (Indiana)
Runner is having a monster senior season for Hamilton Heights, putting up 27.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 4.1 steals. She will play Division I college basketball for Evansville.
Calyssa Sevier, sr., Lytle (Texas)
Sevier became the third girls basketball player from the greater San Antonio metro area to reach 3,000 career points in a late-January win over Dilley. The prolific point guard is averaging 26.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 6.6 steals this winter.
Iyanna Wade, jr., Clairton (Pennsylvania)
Wade scored a WPIAL single-game record 65 points in a late-January victory over Steel Valley. The explosive junior guard is averaging 41.8 points per game.
Morgan Wadsworth, sr., Ahoskie Christian (North Carolina)
Wadsworth is an all-around star for Ahoskie Christian who scores, rebounds and defends. A versatile forward, Wadsworth is putting up 28.5 points, 5.8 boards, 2.1 assists, 5.5 steals and 1.8 blocks.
Tamia Watkins, jr., Andrew Jackson (South Carolina)
A walking double-double, Watkins is averaging 25.3 points and 10.9 rebounds. The talented forward is also dishing out 3.3 assists per game while recording 4.5 steals.
Ella Wheeler, jr., Sulligent (Alabama)
Wheeler is putting up 28.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 4.9 steals as a junior for Class 2A contender Sulligent. She is a lights-out 3-point shooter who can play either guard position.
Jordan Zubich, sr., Mountain Iron-Buhl (Minnesota)
A four-star North Carolina signee, Zubich is Mountain Iron-Buhl’s all-time leading scorer with more than 3,000 career points. The do-everything guard is averaging 28.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 2.9 steals for the reigning Class A state champions.
