SBLive's national baseball rankings look much different after IMG Academy's stunning loss

The 2024 high school baseball season is underway in most states across the country. Corona, California's top team, moves into the top spot this week after IMG Academy (Florida) lost on Saturday for the first time in nearly two seasons.

Stoneman Douglas, who finished on top of last season's national rankings, moves up to No. 2 in the latest rankings.

The SBLive Power 25 national high school baseball rankings include teams affiliated with the state high school athletic association in the state it resides in or those allowed to play affiliate high schools in their home state as well as some of the country's baseball academies.

The rankings are released weekly throughout the 2024 baseball season. Find the complete breakdown of this week's SBLive Power 25 below.

1. Corona (Calif.) (3-0)

Last week: 2

Corona will take on Orange Lutheran Wednesday in the championship game of the PBR Tournament. The Panthers have been off for more than two weeks.

2. Stoneman Douglas (Parkland, Fla.) (5-0)

Last week: 3

The Eagles have outscored their opponents 46-1 over their first five games. South Florida-signee Niko Benestad is hitting .636 with two home runs.

3. Catholic (Baton Rouge, La.) (7-0)

Last week: 4

The Bears were 4-0 last week, including a 3-1 win against Parkview (Georgia) on Saturday. LSU-signee William Schmidt has 21 strikeouts in 10 innings on the mound.

4. Farragut (Knoxville, Tenn.) (0-0)

Last week: 5

Farragut will get their season started with three straight games this week, beginning with a trip to Knoxville Catholic on Monday night.

5. Orange Lutheran (Orange, Calif.) (7-0)

Last week: 6

Oklahoma State-signee Ben Reiland is hitting .421 with two doubles during Orange Lutheran's unbeaten start to the season.

6. IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) (5-1)

Last week: 1

IMG lost to Bob Jones (Alabama) 11-6 on Saturday, losing for the first time since April of 2022. The Ascenders will hit the road this week to take on top Florida teams, Archbishop McCarthy and Doral Academy.

7. Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.) (1-0)

Last week: 8

Cal State Northridge-signee Colton Boardman had two hits including a triple in last week's season-opening victory against Basic Academy.

8. Harvard-Westlake (Studio City, Calif.) (5-1-1)

Last week: 7

The Wolverines tied Sierra Canyon 4-4 in their Mission League opener before beating the Trailblazers 2-1 a day later.

9. Parkview (Lilburn, Ga.) (8-1)

Last week: 11

Parkview's unbeaten run came to an end at the hands of Catholic (Louisiana) on Saturday. They'll take on Buford (Georgia) and T.C. Roberson (North Carolina) this week.

10. Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati, Ohio) (0-0)

Last week: 14

Moeller's season will get underway on March 23 when they take on Strongsville.

11. Doral Academy (Doral, Fla.) (7-0)

Last week: 19

Doral has outscored their opponents by 59 runs over their first seven games. They'll have a big opportunity against IMG Academy on Saturday afternoon.

12. Huntington Beach (Calif.) (5-2)

Last week: 21

The Oilers two losses have come against California's top two teams, Corona and Orange Lutheran.

13. Lowndes (Valdosta, Ga.) (9-1)

Last week: 13

The Vikings won four games in five days last week, beating Belen Jesuit to finish up their trip to Florida.

14. Flower Mound (Texas) (9-2)

Last week: 9

The Jaguars have rattled off seven straight wins following Saturday's 1-0 victory against Lone Star.

15. North Broward Prep (Coconut Creek, Fla.) (5-1)

Last week: 16

Central Florida-signee Mateo Gray had three hits and drove in two runs during Saturday's 7-1 victory against Lewisburg (Mississippi).

16. Lewisburg (Olive Branch, Miss.) (8-1)

Last week: 10

The Patriots had cruised to eight straight wins before Saturday's setback against North Broward Prep (Florida). Senior Kody Gilmore is hitting .520 over his first nine games.

17. Prosper (Texas) (11-1)

Last week: NR

Prosper played six games over three days to close out last week. On Saturday, they took down Bixby (Oklahoma) and The Woodlands.

18. Jackson Prep (Miss.) (13-1)

Last week: NR

LSU-signee Konnor Griffin is hitting .686 with 11 extra-base hits and has stolen 40 bases over the first 14 games of the season.

19. West Monroe (La.) (5-3)

Last week: 17

The Rebels three losses came against No. 3 Catholic. They took down Destrehan and Hahnville in Saturday's doubleheader.

20. Hamilton (Chandler, Ariz.) (2-1)

Last week: 18

Hamilton got off to a 2-0 start last week before dropping Thursday's game to Corona del Sol.

21. La Costa Canyon (Carlsbad, Calif.) (2-0)

Last week: 25

Hawaii-bound senior Cooper Walls tossed his second career no-hitter in Tuesday's season opening win against Hilltop.

22. Valley Christian (San Jose, Calif.) (3-0)

Last week: NR

Stanford commit Quinten Marsh has struck out 18 batters during his first 10 innings on the mound this season.

23. Barbe (Lake Charles, La.) (8-3)

Last week: NR

Barbe outscored their final three opponents 36-1 last week after dropping a game against IMG Academy on Thursday.

24. Westlake (Westlake Village, Calif.) (8-0)

Last week: NR

Junior Noah Stead hit three home runs and drove in eight runs during Friday's 20-0 win over Sylmar.

25. De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) (2-0)

Last week: NR

De La Salle's pitching staff has limited opponents to five total hits over their first two games. Games against Stockton St. Mary's and Palo Alto are up this week.
