Photos: Mater Dei Catholic beats Helix to advance to CIF 2-AA football state championship game

CHULA VISTA, Calif. - Jeremiah McClure hauled in an 80-yard touchdown pass - the only points of the second half - to lift Mater Dei Catholic to a 24-21 win over Helix on Friday in a Southern California Regional 2-AA title game.

With the win Mater Dei Catholic advances to the 2-AA state championship game next week against Central Catholic (Modesto).

Helix running back Christian Washington had another huge game with 191 yards rushing and two touchdowns. He also caught a 68-yard touchdown pass.
