“Our O-line did their thing, they really stepped up,” he said. “Without them we wouldn’t be able to do nothing, so I give all credit to them.”

Head coach Jason Todd added on to the team’s collective effort, crediting a strong week of preparation for their performance.

“It really starts with a great week of practice,” Todd said. “Guys being locked in and understanding the task at hand.”

It was more of the same in the second half for the Bears as their defense continued to stand up the Leapords’ offense, allowing just seven points in the third quarter and two last-minute scores.

A dominant outing from senior running back Ke’Undrae Hollywood helped the Bears control the game, as he rushed for 76 yards and two touchdowns on the day.

“I just had a feeling today, that I was gonna feel good and go out there and do what I do,” Hollywood said. “I like juking, I like running people over and I love playing the game of football.”

Coach Todd remained focused after the victory, looking ahead to the team’s next matchup and room for success as they advance deeper into the state playoffs.

“These guys never lost focus," Todd said. “They’ve been 110 percent committed to the goal and hopefully we’ll take this thing and get us another one next week.”

The Bears (13-1) will continue their playoff run next week as they look bring back the first state championship to Dallas ISD in over 63 years.
