Alex Taylor, 4-star wide receiver from Grimsley, set to announce college decision July 29

Clemson, Penn State, N.C. State, North Carolina and Virginia Tech are among the finalists

Alex Taylor, one of the standout wide receivers for last season's 4-A runner-up Grimsley, will announce his college decision on July 29. 

Taylor is one of the top recruiting targets in North Carolina. The 6-3, 175-pounder has narrowed his list of finalists to North Carolina, North Carolina State, Clemson, Penn State and Virginia Tech.

He is the No. 3 overall player in the state and the No. 25 receiver in the nation according to  recruiting website 247Sports.com.

Taylor caught 65 passes for 1,034 yards and 12 touchdowns last season for the Whirlies, who lost to New Bern 40-28 in the NCHSAA 4-A state championship game.
