Kent Roosevelt played a rare road game at home, beating "host" Tallmadge on Thursday night at Kent State.
Tallmadge had a chance for a dramatic comeback in the seventh, but Mark Manzo grounded into a force out at second with the bases loaded to end the game.
Walsh University commit Nate Stohovich led Roosevelt with three hits, three RBIs and three runs scored.
Logan Poole pitched five innings and struck out five to earn the win.
Roosevelt improved to 5-1 (3-1 Suburban League), while Tallmadge fell to 3-4 (1-2).
