Massillon 7, Hoban 2: Live updates recap of Ohio high school football DII state championship
What should be one of the best high school football state championship games in the country has finally arrived.
Archbishop Hoban and Massillon face off in the Division II Ohio high school football state championship game on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET. Massillon comes into the game ranked No. 20 in the country in the SBLive/Sports Illustrated Power 25 national rankings.
Massillon takes home first playoff state title with win over Archbishop Hoban
These two teams are familiar foes. Archbishop Hoban and Massillon have faced each other in the postseason five times in the past six years. Hoban has won three of the previous four games - 41-20 in the 2022 state semifinals, 35-6 in the 2020 state championship game and 42-28 in the 2018 state championship game.

HOBAN DRIVING: Hoban has a first and 10 on the Massillon 19-yard line with 3:45 left in the game, still trailing 7-2.
MASSILLON 7, HOBAN 2: With 7:33 left in the fourth quarter, Hoban takes its final timeout of the game. The Knights have the ball and are running out of time.
The fourth quarter gets underway with Massillon still leading 7-2. It was a scoreless third quarter, and the only touchdown of the game came midway through the second quarter.
