La Jolla Country Day’s Matt Bender led all scorers with 15 points as the Torreys beat Vista 56-54 in a game at San Marcos.”

Bender’s points came on 6 field goals and 3 of 6 free throws during the game.

Vista was led by Jordan Hilstock’s 17 points and Isaiah Morris added 14. Vista fell to 3-1 overall while La Jolla Country Day improved their record to 0-0.
