Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders edge Vista Panthers 64-63 in California high school basketball game

Mater Dei Catholic Guard Kristian Gonzalez led all scorers with 21 points as the Crusaders beat Vista Panthers 64-63 in a game at Carlsbad High School.

Gonzalez’s points came on 2 field goals, 4 three pointers and 5 of 6 free throws during the game.

Cyprian Hyde added 17. Vista fell to 3-6 overall while Mater Dei Catholic improved their record to 2-2.

Vista’s next game is scheduled to be played at home on Tuesday Jan. 3 versus Fallbrook. Mater Dei Catholic will host Eastlake on Wednesday Jan. 4
