Mater Dei’s Devin Askew led all scorers with 22 points as the Monarchs beat Troy Warriors 70-53 in a game at Matt Denning Nike Hoops Classic - Mater Dei HS.

Askew’s points came on 7 field goals, 2 three pointers and 2 of 4 free throws during the game.

Josh Yoo added 11. Troy fell to 0-1 overall while Mater Dei improved their record to 17-1.

Mater Dei will host J Serra Catholic on Wednesday Jan. 9 at 7:00pm.
