Loyola beats Cathedral 17-7

WR Dakota Smith racked up 50 rushing yards and scored 1 touchdown to guide Loyola to a 17-7 win over Cathedral on Friday night at Southwest College.

The Cubs also received vital efforts from QB Nathan Priestly who completed 3 passes for 48 yards and 1 touchdown and CB Davis Warren who caught 1 pass for 39 yards and 1 touchdown.

Cathedral’s QB Bryce Young threw for 65 yards, CB Colin Payne picked up 38 rushing yards and WR Neko Scott had 35 receiving yards.

The win helps Loyola improve to 3-1 on the season. Tonight’s game was the first matchup between the two teams.

Loyola travels to Sherman Oaks, CA to challenge the Notre Dame (SO) Knights on Friday September 22 at 7:00pm. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.

Cathedral travels to Wilmington, CA to take on the Banning Pilots on Friday August 17 at 7:00pm. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.
