Mater Dei beats Bishop Gorman 35-21

QB JT Daniels picked up 301 passing yards and threw for 2 touchdowns to lead Mater Dei to a 35-21 win over Bishop Gorman on Friday night at Santa Ana Stadium.

The Monarchs also recieved impressive efforts from WR Bru McCoy who caught 7 passes for 137 yards and RB Shakobe Harper who rushed 17 times for 115 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Bishop Gorman’s QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson threw for 331 yards and 2 touchdowns, RB Amod Cianelli picked up 45 rushing yards and 1 touchdown and WR Cedric Tillman had 180 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.

The win helps Mater Dei improve to 2-0 on the season. Tonight’s game was the first matchup between the two teams.

Mater Dei will face off against the La Mirada Matadores at home on Friday September 8 at 7:00pm. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.

Bishop Gorman will take on the De La Salle Spartans at home on Saturday September 16 at 7:00pm. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.
