NEW CANEY, Texas — The Carthage Bulldogs used their opportunistic, bruising defense and balanced offensive attack to crush the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns 42-14 in the area round of the Class 4A Division II Texas high school football playoffs to extend the state's longest active winning streak to 41 consecutive victories Thursday night at Randall Reed Stadium.
