ATHENS, Texas — Sophomore guard Mattie Dollar rode a big second quarter into a 18-point outing to lead Martins Mill (31-6) to a 58-25 win over LaPoynor, booking its first trip to the Class 2A UIL Girls Basketball State Tournament since 2021.

Dollar had nine of her team's points in a second quarter in which it outscored LaPoynor 21-8 to build a double-digit lead the Flyers were never able to recover from.

Martins Mill has been dominant in the postseason, winning by an average of 42 points per game.
