Oklahoma Sooners land blue chip Texas prospect in pregame commitment video

Melissa (Texas) 4-star defensive end Nigel Smith II added some flare to his high school football team's pregame on Friday.
The 6-foot-5, 260-pound class of 2024 defensive lineman committed to the Oklahoma Sooners in a jumbo-tron announcement video in the school district's shiny new $35 million stadium.
Smith II, a Preseason SBLive Texas All-State selection on the defensive line, was among the top uncommitted prospects in the Lone Star State.
The video showed Smith II clad in an OU uniform, walking around the program's locker room on its Norman, Oklahoma campus before flashing Jordan Brand and Oklahoma logos next to one another.
Melissa is facing Royse City in Week 3 of the Texas high school football season.
The Cardinals (2-0), ranked No. 20 in the SBLive Texas Power 25, are coming off of a lopsided 66-33 win over Texas Class 4A power China Spring.
