Week 3 of the Texas high school football season continues Saturday with a full slate of games across the Lone Star State. 

No. 2 DeSoto is the Saturday headliner, taking on defending Class 5A state champion South Oak Cliff at Kincaide Stadium in Dallas at 6 p.m.

On Friday, Defending Class 5A D-I state champion No. 5 Aledo thumped Justin Northwest for its 17th straight win (Here's how did the Bearcats got here.), nationally ranked Galena Park North Shore rolled, 5-star Timpson athlete Terry Bussey made his debut with a game-winning touchdown run and No. 18 Cibolo Steele jumped all over Hutto.

The fireworks started Thursday when Red Oak stunned Lake Belton on ESPN2 with a game-winning overtime touchdown on 4th and 17 and Lone Star beat Reedy on a walk-off touchdown 35-32 claim the Frisco rivalry.

In Monday's SBLive Texas Power 25 rankings update, Melissa jumped nine spots to No. 11 after beating No. 9 China Spring handily in Week 2, Atascocita moved to No. 7 in the state after beating No. 5 Katy and No. 5 Aledo survived a shootout with No. 13 Denton Guyer in a ranked nail-biter.

Texas has four nationally ranked teams: Duncanville is ranked No. 6, DeSoto is No. 11, North Shore is No. 12 and Austin Westlake is No. 25 in the SBLive/Sports Illustrated Power 25 national rankings.
