Meeting for the third straight year in the state final, Bushland defeated Gunter in four games to claim the UIL 3A state girls volleyball championship on Saturday morning at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland.

The Falcons won by the scores of 25-22, 25-23, 20-25, 25-23.

It was the first of four UIL state girls volleyball matches to be played Saturday in Garland.
