Waco La Vega defeats Canyon 45-36 to claim UIL 4A state title in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO — Kiyleyah Parr scored a game-high 21 points and had eight steals to lead Waco La Vega past Canyon 45-36 on Saturday night in the Texas (UIL) 4A state girls basketball championship at the Alamodome.
Alaysia Gude had 12 points for the Pirates (32-11).
Waco La Vega outscored the Eagles 12-6 in the final period.
Jaylee Moss led Canyon (30-7) with 12 points while Kambrie Graser and Sydnee Winfrey supplied 10 points each.
