Dodgers and Lance Lynn on Wrong Side of Diamondbacks Postseason Record-Setting Inning

It was over from here.

Dodgers general manager Andrew Friedman's hesitance to trade for a solidified starter for his injury-riddled rotation reared its ugly head in the final game of LA's season.

The team trusted Lance Lynn in their do-or-die NLDS Game 3 against the Diamondbacks and got rewarded with an infamous record for their last-ditch attempt to save 2023.

Geraldo Perdomo got the party started in the third after Lynn battled back from traffic on the bases in the second.

Arizona's No. 9 hitter exposed the 36-year-old's regular season home run problem as he rounded the bases to a raucous Chase Field crowd.

NL Rookie of the Year favorite Corbin Carroll couldn't join the home run fanfare, but two veterans followed up the Diamondbacks' young superstar power party.

Second baseman Ketel Marte took Lynn deep to right field for the 2-0 lead after many Dodgers fans hoped to escape the inning with just a one-run deficit.

First baseman Christian Walker then launched a rocket to left field and many thought a three-run lead would spell the end of Lance Lynn's night.

To Dodger fans' horror, Dave Roberts left the righty in the game for one batter too many.

Catcher Gabriel Moreno lifted a ball to right that just went foul even after he rounded the bases for what was thought to be the record-breaking shot.

The promising Snakes backstop proved the old saying of "ball don't lie" very true after the very next offer from Lynn was deposited into the left-field bleachers.

LA's issue throughout the series was a makeshift rotation and all three of the team's remaining healthy starters failed to come through when it mattered most.

Lynn's home run problem was well documented in the regular season as he and the Dodgers now hold an infamous record to commemorate their disaster of a series.
