Dodgers Hall of Fame Pitcher Congratulated Diamondbacks Pitching Coach on NLDS Win

Well-earned respect is given by Dodgers legend.

The Diamondbacks have moved on to the NLCS and they have yet to lose a game this postseason.

After sweeping the Brewers the Diamondbacks made a statement sweeping the Dodgers, winning the first two games in Los Angeles.

What has stood out? The amazing pitching performances by players like Zac Gallen, Merill Kelly, and Brandon Pfaadt.

The performances were so good that Dodgers legend Sandy Koufax had to reach out to Diamondbacks pitching coach, Brent Strom, to congratulate him.

The pitching in the NLDS was amazing, all three starters walked away with very good outings, if Pfaadt had left to complete his 5th inning he most likely would have pitched five scoreless innings.

Kelly and Gallen both walked away with wins from their starts.

The Diamondbacks have been playing amazing baseball for the last month of the regular season and it carried over into October.

As an entire pitching staff, they are only allowing 2.2 runs per game in the five playoff games they have played while the offense has been producing 6 runs per game.

Koufax knows quite a bit about successful pitching, winning 3 CY Youngs during his career along with an MVP, 3 pitching Triple Crowns, and 4 World Series championships. He also won 2 World Series MVPs.

The Diamondbacks are currently on a warpath in the National Division, and being slated against the dangerous Philadelphia Phillies lineup in the NLCS, the pitchers will have to come to play if they want to play in the World Series.
