The Dodgers have been dealing with a string of issues on the pitching side of things lately, and now they can add an injury to the ledger. On Saturday the team announced Julio Urias was placed on the 15-day injured list with a hamstring strain. The move was retroactive to May 19th. Veteran reliever Wander Suero rejoins the team in St. Louis.

The timing of Julio's injury is interesting considering his rough start against the Cardinals on Thursday where he allowed 6 runs on 4 home runs in just 3 innings. Since there was no mention of anything bothering him at the time, the two may not be related.

So far this season, Urias has a record of 5 wins and 4 losses with a 4.39 ERA in 10 starts.

Suero returns to the active roster to give the bullpen a fresh arm amid a tough stretch of 13 consecutive games and 19 in 20 days. The veteran has appeared in 3 games for LA this season, allowing 3 runs over 4.2 innings. In Triple-A this year, Suero has an impressive 1.32 ERA in 12 outings.

Urias' injury comes at a particularly challenging time for the Dodgers. Just earlier this week, they lost right-hander Dustin May to the IL, where he could miss an extended period of time recovering from a flexor mass strain in his right forearm. Top prospect Gavin Stone was already slated to fill in for May, but now the Dodgers will need to find a replacement for Urias as well.
