Dodgers Make Trade, Move Clayton Kershaw to 60-Day Injured List

The Dodgers are making moves Monday morning.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have made a trade, acquiring infielder Andre Lipcius from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for cash considerations.

In order to make room on the 40-man roster for Lipcius, the team transferred left-handed pitcher Clayton Kershaw to the 60-day injured list.

Lipcius, 25, appeared in 13 games with Detroit last year at the MLB level. He had 38 plate appearances, and slashed .286/.342/.400 with one home run and four runs batted in.

Through five spring training games with Detroit, Lipcius was 1-for-8 with a double and a run batted in.

He's now on the Dodgers' 40-man roster, and should report to camp soon. The former third-round pick will add infield depth at the minor league level.

As for Kershaw, it's no surprise he's headed to the 60-day IL.

He recently reported back to Dodgers camp at Camelback Ranch, and is targeting a return in "July-ish, August-ish."

For now, he's continuing his throwing program, and is just focused on getting healthy for the second half of the season.
