The MLB Trade Deadline is approaching rather quickly, and with all of these injuries piling within the clubhouse, there are a lot of needs to fill for the Dodgers pitching rotation.

But in the meantime, there are some rookie starters that have been flashing some potential, earning some praise from Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts.

Roberts has been high on rookie right-hander, Bobby Miller, and had some praise for him after his performance against the Mets on Sunday.

“For me, it was growth. It was a step in the right direction,” said Roberts. “He made pitches when he needed to. … For Bobby, great job tonight.”

Miller was outstanding in the Dodgers 2-1 loss against the New York Mets, striking out five and only allowing one run in his first start after the All-Star break.

His game has been phenomenal this season, getting off to one of the best starts in franchise history - 3-0 win-loss record, 0.78 ERA with zero home runs allowed in 23 innings pitched.

The Dodgers starting rotation has gotten very young this season, due to the fact that veterans Julio Urias, Walker Buehler, and even Clayton Kershaw have seen a lot of time on the team's injured list this season.

There are other prospects like Miller who have seen the mound for Los Angeles - Emmett Sheehan, Michael Grove and Gavin Stone - but for Bobby Miller, he has been nothing short of excellent this season.

Surely, he'll have to be someone the Dodgers will consider in their future plans, and just maybe, he will become a leader for the the Boys in Blue.
