Injuries have plagues Clayton Kershaw the last few seasons. The 3-time CY Young Award winner hasn't felt right for a little while. He's tweaked his back a couple times, and it seemed like age might be catching up to him. But this year seems like a different story for Kershaw:

"I mean," Kershaw said then paused, "I don't feel like pitching tomorrow, for sure. But I don't really feel that bad. Maybe in the last couple years it's been worse, but this year I actually feel pretty good bouncing back. Been doing my best to try to manage workload and things like that, so maybe not throwing quite as long of bullpens or different things. But, overall this year I feel like I'm bouncing back Better than I have the last few years."

After his 7 shutout innings Tuesday night against the Angels, Kershaw has lowered his ERA to 2.72, which is good for eight best in the league.

His "never say die" attitude has prolonged his career into one of the greatest in Dodgers history, and a big part of that is knowing when to rest.

Workload management has been key to Kershaw's rehab from injuries, and it's been a big part of his ability to stay healthy this year, when the Dodgers desperately need a starting pitcher to stay consistent.

The 35-year-old seems like he's figured out what works for him, and how to help the team get better, while making sure he stays on the field.
