Los Angeles will be getting a familiar face back on the mound in due time after the most recent update on his return to game action.

According to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, Clayton Kershaw will be back on the mound on Thursday against the Colorado Rockies.

It was reported earlier in the week that Kershaw would return on the Dodgers' current road trip, but it wasn't known which series against a divisional opponent that it'd be.

Now it's all but confirmed that the lefty will take the mound against the Rockies in what's been another injury plagued year for the veteran.

When healthy, Kershaw is still one of the best in the league and he proved as much with his 10th All-Star selection this season in another awesome year in Dodger blue.

The lifetime Dodger to this point, Kershaw's return from injury will be a big boost to a Dodgers rotation that's been better as of late, but still not the dominating force we've seen in year's past.

Offensively, the Dodgers have carried the team with both Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts having MVP caliber seasons with 5 WAR apiece up to this point in the season.

Pitching has been the issue both in the starting ranks and the bullpen, but both have been steadily improving as of late for the Boys in Blue.

After dropping series to the Reds and the Blue Jays at home, a sweep of the Oakland Athletics rescued a winning homestand to kick off August.

On the road, the Dodgers took three of four from San Diego and will get Kershaw back into the rotation just in time for a postseason push.

Fans can't wait to see the best pitcher of his generation continue adding to his legacy later this week.
