Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw is back on the active roster as the Dodgers get set to face the Tampa Bay Rays for the first time since the 2020 World Series. The club announced the move Friday morning and the corresponding roster move on the pitching staff.

Right-handed reliever Tayler Scott was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City -- a move that was technically done on Thursday's off day.

Kershaw rejoins the active roster from the bereavement list after being away from the team to attend his mother's funeral. He's lined up to face Tyler Glasnow on Saturday at Tropicana Field.

The ace left-hander is 6-4 with a 2.98 ERA over 10 starts this season.

Scott joined the team in Atlanta earlier this week but never got into a game against the Braves. The right-hander is 0-1 with an 11.12 ERA over 21 previous big league games in his career. However, in 16 games with the Dodgers' AAA minor league club, he's been exceptional, posting a 1.08 ERA over 16 games.

When the Dodgers officially made the Tayler Scott move on Thursday's off day, the transactions page also showed that veteran right-hander Wander Suero had cleared waivers and will rejoin the Triple-A squad where he's fared much better this season.

In 4 games with the big league team, he's allowed 6 runs over 6.2 innings (8.10 ERA). He's been solid for the AAA team leading the team in saves with 6 while posting a 2.45 ERA over 13 games.
