If you want to talk about consistency in starting pitching, one name should always be mentioned as one of the greatest Dodgers pitchers to ever do it... Clayton Kershaw.

Ever since making his debut in 2008, Kershaw has been nothing short of dominant. He's won 3 Cy Young Awards, an MVP, he's thrown a no-hitter and he's become a staple member of 9 All-Star teams — and probably 10 in just a few weeks.

Here's one more thing to add to his list of accolades:

Going 7 innings in a start is something that has become more and more rare in the game nowadays. Pitchers' pitch counts reach 40-60 by the third inning, and most don't make it past the fifth or sixth.

A complete game is seen as an amazing accomplishment now, but back in the day, that was just an ordinary everyday thing. You would only use a reliever if your starting pitcher didn't have his best stuff.

Kershaw has now thrown 22 straight scoreless innings at Angel Stadium, dating back to September 25 of 2020, when he gave up 4 runs over four innings of work in a no decision.

He's gone at least 7 innings in 3 of his last 5 starts against the Angels, and his career ERA against them is only 1.99.

And lastly, to add on to the wonder that is Clayton Kershaw, he hasn't lost a game against the crosstown rivals since 2011!

It's no wonder why he is seen as a lock in Cooperstown when he retires, and his number 22 will definitely be hanging from the rafters at Dodger Stadium one day.
