Dodgers News: Dustin May Worked on Mechanical Changes This Offseason

Hopefully these help him stay healthy and dominant all year long.

Dustin May could be one of the biggest X-factors for the Dodgers in the 2023 season. At his best, May is one of the most dominant and unhittable pitchers in the league. At his worst, though, he's pretty much the exact opposite.

May came back at the end of last season after a long break from Tommy John surgery, and showed both the good and the bad. However, after a full offseason of work, May said he's finally fully healthy and feels great heading into the new season.

"Feeling great," May said. "Coming off the back injury at the end of the season last year, just glad to be healthy. I was healthy in the playoffs, just didn't get a chance to throw. Just glad to be healthy coming in to spring."

May also said that the team worked on a few mechanical changes that he hopes will make him even more dominant and help him stay healthy in 2023.

"We tweaked a few things with the delivery and the mechanics to kind of get it back to post surgery and I'm feeling really strong going into the start of spring training."

The Dodgers need May to not only pitch well, but stay healthy in 2023. They have a very injury-prone rotation between May, Clayton Kershaw, Tony Gonsolin and Noah Syndergaard, and need a little more reliability in there — and May feels like the best candidate to do that.

A healthy May would go a long way to success for the Dodgers this season, so Dodger fans can hope that these mechanical changes help him get there. I'm expecting a big year out of May this season.
