The Dodgers officially won the season series against the San Diego Padres, as the Boys in Blue currently lead the Friars eight games to two with only three remaining in the 2023 season.

The series win marks their 12th straight as LA has continued to best San Diego year in and year out.

Perhaps no better symbol of LA's dominance this year was Mookie Betts' go-ahead grand slam in the final game of the four-game series.

When reacting to the series loss, several Padres marveled at the depth the Dodgers have on their roster, crediting that as a reason behind their years of success.

"I mean, do you see the lineup?" Padres slugger Juan Soto said. "It is very good. They have really good players, and they have really good pitching. They have a really good team."

The Dodgers have outscored the Padres 51-34 so far this season as the Padres can't seem to put together a strong performance at the plate and a solid performance on the mound on the same day.

"They're a good team. We're good too. Obviously, they have kicked out butt pretty good the last few years," said infielder Jake Cronenworth.

This is not to say that the Dodger pitching staff put together an elite performance against the Friars.

Bobby Miller only lasted 3.2 innings in the first game, forcing the Dodgers to use five additional pitchers in their 10-5 win over the Friars. In another bullpen-heavy game, the Dodgers let up 8 runs in their only loss of the series, including 7 in the eighth inning to give up the lead.

The impending return of Clayton Kershaw and possibly Walker Buehler will certainly bolster a Dodger's pitching lineup that has been the beneficiary of the dominant LA offense.
