Dodgers News: LA Claims RHP Tyson Miller from Mets, Gonsolin's Season is Over

Some added pitching depth for the Dodgers.

The Dodgers have been busy on Sunday. During the series finale in Boston, the club announced it claimed (or re-claimed) right-handed reliever Tyson Miller from the New York Mets.

Miller was DFA'd by the Mets earlier this week.

Before diving more into Miller, ahead of the game manager Dave Roberts provided a number of updates on injured pitchers, including Tony Gonsolin, whose season is effectively over after being transferred to the 60-day injured list to create roster space for the acquisition.

More on Tony here.

Back to Miller, this is his second tour of duty with LA this season. The club originally picked him up from the Milwaukee Brewers back in July. He spent a few weeks with the organization before he was designated for assignment to create a roster spot for the return of Ryan Pepiot who was activated from the 60-day IL and optioned to Triple-A.

He got into only one game with the Dodgers, allowing 1 run over 2 innings in a loss to the Blue Jays. With the AAA OKC club, he's tossed 3 scoreless innings over 2 games.

Miller opened the season with the Brewers and has pitched for the Texas Rangers and Chicago Cubs in his career. Consider him this year's Jake Reed.
