The Dodgers trade deadline was not like fans hoped for, but with that being said, they still made moves as a club.

The Dodgers acquired Ryan Yarbrough from the Kansas City Royals before the trade deadline closed and the new Dodgers pitcher will look to help the team push for an NL West win and a long run in the postseason.

Ryan Yarbrough is a funky left-handed pitched that messed around with different arm angles when pitching. Since coming into the league in 2018, he has seen work from the pen and starter work with the Tampa Bay Rays and Kansas City Royals.

Already having over 600 innings of work under his belt, Yarbrough will look to bring his steady command and ability to miss the barrel into a Los Angeles team who has struggled against negating home runs.

The bright spot is that Ryan Yarbrough has been pitching very well in his last four starts for the Royals. In 24.2 innings of work, the lanky lefty pitched to the tune of a 2.19 ERA striking out 15 while only walking two batters.

This type of move looks at adding an arm that can eat innings of one-run ball while the other starters need a rest day.

While the move may not be the flashiest, it adds an arm that can throw five to seven innings a game in hopes to have good run support and defense backing him up.

The Dodgers at 59-45 look to pull away from NL West opponents that made moves as well as acquiring pieces needed to challenge for the NL West division.
