Back in the lineup after missing a game with an unfortunate injury, Max Muncy feels he's in a good spot to get his season started in earnest. The Dodger third baseman has gotten off to a rough start this year with just one hit in 13 at-bats. Watching him at the plate, it looked like the frustration was building by Saturday night.

In speaking with reporters on Monday, however, Muncy really likes where he's at with his offensive game.

“My swing feels like it’s in a really good spot right now, but that first night I was swinging a bat that had a hole in it. It obviously wasn’t the way I wanted to start the season, but at the same time, I had a really good spring and everything feels right where I want it to be. You just have those nights in baseball.”

As Max mentioned, he had a great spring training, posting a .304 batting average and 1.005 OPS over 19 games. He came into the season with high hopes after a nice late rebound following months of struggle in 2022. To open the 2023 season, it feels like the baseball gods are just working against him.

He'll find it. Max Muncy has unlimited lives in this game.
