Dodgers News: Max Muncy Pulls Back the Curtain on the Feeling in the Clubhouse After Losing in the Playoffs

Max Muncy tells us what happened in the clubhouse after getting swept in the NLDS by the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Max Muncy has been to the postseason every year since 2018.

While winning the World Series in 2020, he's suffered disappointing elimination in every other season.

He talked to the guys at Foul Territory, and told them what happened in the clubhouse after the Dodgers' elimination in the NLDS at the hands of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

"Yeah, unfortunately, I've been a part of too many postseason losses like that and, you know, Doc does a great job. He comes in and he gives a speech to everybody and it's never fun. It's never good. It's not really, you know, good to listen to, but Doc does as good a job as you can do with it. He kind of opens up the floor and he says if anyone's got anything to say you can open up Jason Heyward this year, he kind of jumped up and he was super thankful to all of us and of the front office for assembling the team -- just classic Jason Heyward.

"Every year there's always a guy that speaks out like that and it's a very somber situation but my thing is I like to get everyone a bunch of beers and you don't really need to say anything. It sucks the season's over, didn't end how you wanted to. There's only one team that wins that last game that in you want to be it. And we're not it it's kind of a terrible feeling so I don't feel like too much needs to be said for me, I just get I try to hand out as many beers as I hand out. It sucks."

This is a very candid answer from Muncy, and it's nice to see a little bit about what goes on in a locker room after a disappointing loss.

As disappointed as the fans are after a loss, it obviously has a much greater impact on the players.

No Dodger fan should ever question the desire of the team to win during the postseason. This disappointing sweep in the NLDS hurt everyone in the organization, from top to bottom. Muncy and the Dodgers hope they will have another chance to right some of their wrongs in the 2024 postseason.
