Dodgers News: Miguel Rojas in Wait and See Mode With Hand Injury From Hit By Pitch
Shortstop Miguel Rojas was forced to exit Friday night's game in San Francisco after taking a 95 mph fastball to his left hand/wrist area. X-rays came back negative last night but the Dodgers are still in "wait and see mode" with the veteran.
Rojas didn't seem overly worried about a major injury when speaking with reporters after the game. But, he still knew he wasn't out of the woods with it.
“I feel like, especially at this part of the season, when you get hit by a pitch like that you have to be careful knowing what we have ahead of us,” Rojas said. “We have to wait until tomorrow and see how I feel. Sometimes the bruising and all that stuff can hide a little thing here and there.”
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that, thankfully, the team seems to have dodged a bullet but wouldn't be certain until the results of a CT scan come back before game time on Saturday.
Rojas will be out of the lineup tonight and back in on Sunday if all goes well.
The veteran shortstop is hitting .236 this season but is sitting right at .300 in September.
